Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about planning, fees, and advisory services.

Do I have to pay for the introductory meeting?

No. The introductory meeting is complimentary.

The purpose of the meeting is simply to get to know each other and determine whether we're a good fit. Financial planning is personal, and it's important to work with someone you trust and feel comfortable with.

Why should I work with WealthPoint Financial instead of another advisor?

The honest answer is that we may not be the right fit for everyone.

Many advisors focus primarily on investment management and meet with clients once or twice a year. Our approach is different. We build long-term relationships and help clients make thoughtful financial decisions across all areas of their financial lives—not just investments.

If you're looking for transparent advice, ongoing guidance, and a modern planning relationship centered on service rather than product sales, we may be a great fit.

And if we're not, we'll gladly help point you in the direction of someone who is.

Can you work with clients in other states?

Yes.

We work with clients virtually across the country using secure videoconferencing and online financial planning tools. We also offer in-person meetings for clients located in the Alpharetta, Georgia area.

Many local clients choose to meet with us in person initially and then transition to virtual meetings over time for added convenience and flexibility.

Whether you prefer to meet face-to-face or online, we strive to provide the same high level of service and personalized guidance.

How does WealthPoint Financial get paid?

We are a fee-only financial planning firm.

This means we do not earn commissions, sell financial products, or receive compensation from investment companies or other third parties. Our only compensation comes directly from our clients.

Our fees cover comprehensive financial planning and investment management services. We believe in complete transparency, so all fees are clearly communicated and structured to align our interests with yours.

Do you offer hourly or one-time financial plans?

No.

We believe financial planning is most effective as an ongoing relationship rather than a one-time event. Our focus is on helping clients make informed financial decisions over time as their lives, goals, and circumstances evolve.

Because of this approach, we do not offer hourly consultations or standalone financial plans. Instead, we partner with clients through a long-term planning relationship that provides continuous guidance, accountability, and support.

If you're specifically seeking hourly advice or a one-time financial plan, we're happy to help connect you with a planner who offers those services.

Are you a fiduciary?

Yes.

As a fiduciary, we are legally and ethically required to act in your best interest at all times. In practical terms, this means we are legally required to recommend what’s best for you, not what’s most profitable for us.

Is there a minimum account size to work with you?

We do not require a minimum investment balance or net worth.

We do, however, have a minimum annual fee of $2,000 for ongoing client relationships.

Our goal is to work with individuals and families who value long-term planning and ongoing advice, regardless of where they are starting financially.

Who may not be a good fit for WealthPoint Financial?

We may not be the right fit if you are looking for speculative investing, frequent trading, or someone to pick “hot stocks.”

Our investment philosophy is built around low-cost, diversified, long-term investing using vehicles such as index funds and ETFs.

We also operate as a modern, technology-enabled practice. Clients should be comfortable using email, accessing online portals, and participating in virtual meetings when needed.

What does a financial planner actually do?

A financial planner helps clients make informed financial decisions and stay aligned with their long-term goals.

That includes areas such as investing, retirement planning, tax planning, cash flow, insurance, estate considerations, and major life decisions.

Just as importantly, a planner provides accountability, perspective, and behavioral coaching—helping clients stay disciplined and focused during both favorable and challenging market conditions.

I’d like to learn more. What’s the next step?

The best next step is to schedule an introductory call.

We’ll discuss your goals, answer your questions, explain how we work, and help you determine whether our firm is the right fit for your needs.

Do you offer services in Spanish?

Yes. We are fully bilingual in English and Spanish

Is there a long-term commitment required?

No. I do not believe in locking clients into long-term contracts. My goal is to earn your trust through the value I provide and build a lasting relationship. If you ever decide WealthPoint Financial is no longer the right fit, you are free to move on. No penalties, no complications.
